This guide explains how to create an Image Information Box in LearnPath or News pages to display a single image with optional text, formatting, and clickable links within an informational content box.

Overview

An Image Information Box is like the Text Information Box, but it also includes the option to add a single image.

How to Create an Image Information Box In LearnPath OR News Pages

  1. On the News home page OR LearnPath guide, click the button.
  2. Select Image from the drop-down menu
  3. The ‘ADD INFORMATION BOX – IMAGE’ screen will be displayed.
  4. Add a suitable image to the ‘Image File’ field. You can either:
    1. Drag and drop a picture from Windows Explorer or other compatible applications.
    2. Click the link ‘BROWSE FOR AN IMAGE’ and select an image file from the file browsing window.
  5. You can change the position of the image by dragging the center of the image using the  cursor. The image will snap to the center, a corner, or an edge of the Image file window. Text will flow around the image automatically.   Note:  If Center is selected, any text entered in Text entry window  will not be displayed.
  6. You can resize and reshape the image by dragging the corners of the image using the  cursor.
  7. The image can be removed by dragging it out of the Image file window.
  8. By adding a URL into the Web Address URL field, you can turn the image into a clickable link.  Ensure the URL includes http:// or https:// at the beginning.
  9. Use the Image alternative text field to add a textual description of the image for screen reader users.
  10. In the Heading entry window, enter the text to be displayed as a heading in the top bar of the Information Box.

Note: If the Heading field is left blank the Information Box will be displayed without a Heading bar.

  1.  In the Text entry window, enter the text to be displayed as the contents of the Information Box.
  2. (OPTIONAL) Use the Rich Text Format editor to format the heading or text. You can also add images and links if needed.   When complete, the text will "wrap around" the image.
  3. Using the Heading Background or Content Background checkboxes, override the default color scheme to change the background color of the top bar or the information box.
  4.  (OPTIONAL) Apply a border to the information box.
  5.  Use the Show in Search checkbox to control whether the information box will be displayed on the LearnPath guide or News page or kept hidden.
  6. (OPTIONAL) The Embed and Show when embedded functionality can be used to display the information box on another application such as a web page.
  7. Click the Save button to save the entries. Alternatively, click the Cancel button to abandon the creation of the Information Box.
