Summary
To provide integration with the EBSCO Discovery Service a number of parameters must be completed and the related Housekeeping process must be activated. The MARC Export Housekeeping option will export catalog and archived catalog MARC data to a defined file location and/or FTP (ftp or sftp) address.
This guide will list the parameters and Housekeeping process required to establish integration with the EBSCO Discovery service.
Parameters
The following Parameters must be completed if you are using the EBSCO Discovery Service:
Parameter No.6300 - Show Automatic MARC Export Parameters. Choose Yes to display the parameters relating to automatic MARC export are displayed.
Parameter No.6301 - Automatic Export Output File Name. Enter the filename used for both the file export and the FTP export.
Parameter No.6302 - Automatic Export Output File Location. Enter the location to which the the file export will be saved. If the parameter is left blank, the export will not be saved to file. The value of this parameter is restricted to paths under UserDefinedDirectories unless Parameter No.1214 - Allow Network Paths Outside of the Install Path is set to Yes. If it is set to Yes, subdirectories of the paths defined in Parameter No.1391 – directoryBrowsePaths, are also allowed.
Parameter No.6303 - Automatic Export FTP Location. Enter the FTP server to which the export will be copies. If the parameter is left blank, the export will not copy to an FTP address.
Parameter No.6304 - Automatic Export FTP Username. Enter the Username to use to log in to the nominated FTP Server.
Parameter No.6305 - Automatic Export FTP Password. Enter the password to use to log in to the nominated FTP Server.
Parameter No.6306 - Automatic Export MARC Format. Enter the MARC format to use for the export (either "Stored MARC21" or "Generated MARC21").
Parameter No.6307 - Automatic Export Includes Copies. Choose Yes if copy data will be included in the export. Copy data will be generated as set in the MARC > Items Parameters.
Parameter No.6308 - Automatic Export Search Strategy. An optional search, used to limit the records included in the export, can be entered in this field. Enter the search in the same format as the Catalog Any words search.
Parameter No.6309 - Automatic Export Last Run Time. The time entered in this field identifies the time the export last ran. Only records changed after this time are included in the export. This is not user-editable but may be cleared if an export of the entire catalog is desired. If necessary, the value can be manually. Consult a Support Representative for this instance
Parameter No. 6310 – Automatic Export FTP Passive Mode. This parameter requires a Yes/No response. Choose Yes if the FTP should be run in passive mode from MARC export. Passive mode is useful when the library’s firewall blocks data coming from the nominated FTP server.
Parameter No. 6311 – Apply Template Record to MARC Export. This parameter requires a Yes/No response. Choose Yes if values from a resource’s corresponding template record are to be applied when generating MARC export data. If enabled, positions 6 and 7 of the leader will be overridden with template values. The fixed length fields (006 and 007) will be pre-filled from the template but will be overridden by the exported record if it contains data for those field positions.
Parameter No. 6108 Catalog ID Export Tag – Set this value to be 970.
Housekeeping Process
The MARC Export option in System > Housekeeping must be turned On (indicated by a check displaying in the corresponding checkbox). If the checkbox is blank, click the Edit button, click in the checkbox and a check will display. If you have had to click in the checkbox make sure you click the Save button.
