This guide explains how to manually run the required Housekeeping processes to immediately apply updated Interest Level settings to resources and collections instead of waiting for overnight processing.
Overview
Changing the settings for Interest Level or Overwrite Interest Level for a collection does not take effect immediately. Two Housekeeping processes need to be run to calculate which copies and resources need to be updated with the new value for Interest Level.
You can either set Housekeeping options to run these processes during the next overnight Housekeeping or you can perform the Housekeeping processes manually if you require an immediate result.
How to Update Interest Levels for a Collection Immediately
- Navigate to System > Housekeeping
- Make sure that the two Housekeeping processes: Catalog Interest Level AND Interest Level are both checked.
- If either Housekeeping process is not checked, click the Edit icon
, scroll down to find the entry, check the checkbox, and click the Save icon
. - Navigate to Management > Parameters.
- Edit Parameter 1261 – disablePerfomanceIntensiveProcessesForRunNow = No.
- Navigate to System > Housekeeping. Click the Edit icon

- Scroll to the very bottom of the page and locate the Run Now field.
- Select the option SuitabilityAgeRegularProcess from the drop-down list.
- Click the Save icon
. The Housekeeping process SuitabilityAgeRegularProcess will be run within the next few minutes. - Wait for 5 minutes to allow this first Housekeeping process to complete and then repeat steps 4 – 7 for CatalogSuitabilityAgeRegularProcess. Important Note: These two processes must be run in this order since the second process relies on the results of the first. Wait five minutes to allow the first process to complete before starting the second. The two processes must not be run together.
