How to Apply Formats for a Collection Overnight

This guide explains how to enable the Catalog Format Housekeeping process so that changes to collection Formats are applied during the next overnight system processing.

Overview 

Changing the settings for Format for a collection does not take effect immediately. A Housekeeping process needs to be run to calculate which copies and resources need to be updated with the new value for Format.

You can either set Housekeeping options to run this process during the next overnight Housekeeping or you can perform the Housekeeping process manually if you require an immediate result.

How to Apply Formats for a Collection Overnight

1. Navigate to System > Housekeeping
2. Make sure that the Housekeeping Process Catalog Format is checked
3. If the Housekeeping process is not checked, click the Edit icon then scroll down to find the entry, check the checkbox, and click the Save icon
4. The selected option will be included as part of the next overnight Housekeeping processing.
